SEK-Qatar proudly celebrated the successful completion of the Grade 8 Community Project Exhibition, where students presented the culmination of their year-long learning journeys as part of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP).
The Community Project is a key component of the MYP and provides students with the opportunity to explore issues that matter to them while taking meaningful action within their communities. Throughout the process, students develop essential skills including research, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and self-management.
The exhibition showcased a diverse range of student-led projects inspired by real-world challenges, personal interests, and community needs. Students demonstrated creativity, initiative, and resilience while embodying important IB Learner Profile attributes such as being caring, principled, reflective, and open-minded.
The event highlighted the strong sense of student agency fostered at SEK-Qatar and reflected the school’s commitment to holistic education, international-mindedness, and meaningful learning experiences.
We congratulate all Grade 8 students for their dedication and outstanding work throughout the year. We also extend our sincere thanks to our families, teachers, and wider school community for their continuous encouragement and support. Their partnership plays an essential role in helping our students grow into confident, compassionate, and globally minded learners.
The projects presented during the exhibition were a wonderful example of how young learners can contribute positively to their communities and create meaningful impact through action and inquiry.
