SEK Education Group inaugurated the upcoming opening of Daraah International School (DIS), scheduled to welcome its first students in September 2026. The new school is located in AMAALA, one of the Kingdom’s tourism destinations, developed by Red Sea Global (RSG). Daraah International School will provide international education from nursery to MYP (ages 0 to 16) and will be a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate (IB) for PYP and MYP, subject to authorization.
The school is being developed in partnership with Red Sea Global as part of the broader vision to create a thriving, sustainable community in AMAALA. DIS will serve families residing and working within the destination, offering a world-class educational model aligned with international standards and local regulatory frameworks.
The official inauguration took place on September 2nd, with the presence of representatives from Red Sea Global, SEK Education Group, and the Ministry of Education in Saudi Arabia. During the opening ceremony, symbolic ribbon-cutting marked the beginning of a new educational chapter in AMAALA, celebrating the launch of a world-class learning environment for future generations.
Nieves Segovia, President of SEK Education Group, stated: “Education is an essential part of building a thriving community. Daraah brings together SEK’s international experience and educational innovation with AMAALA’s ambition to create an exceptional environment in which families can live, learn and grow. Our aim is to help every student develop their talents and prepare for the future, while connecting them to the opportunities of SEK’s wider international network. We are proud to deepen our partnership with Red Sea Global and contribute through education to the ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030.”
Group CEO of Red Sea Global, John Pagano, commented: “Destinations are more than bricks and mortar – they are the people who bring them to life. Daraah International School is part of building a community where people can live, raise their families and build lasting connections. As AMAALA grows, we are building the services and infrastructure that make it a place people are proud to call home.”
Daraah International School will implement SEK’s pedagogical model based on the concept of the Intelligent Classroom, combining active methodologies, innovative learning environments, and advanced technological integration. The school will place particular emphasis on sustainability, marine sciences, artificial intelligence, wellness, entrepreneurship, and the creative arts, equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to contribute to a rapidly evolving world while reflecting AMAALA’s vision as a global destination rooted in environmental responsibility and well-being.
With this new opening, SEK Education Group reinforces its presence in the Middle East, where it already operates schools in Doha, Riyadh, and Red Sea Global’s Turtle Bay Village, and continues to expand its global learning community.
